The Principal and owner of Orion HR Group is Larry Morgan who holds the designations of SHRM-SCP, SPHR and GPHR.  Larry has over 35 years of HR experience and has worked for companies such as Best Buy, National Car Rental, JD Edwards, Lawson Software, HB Fuller, Grant Thornton Public Accounting, CUNA Mutual Group.

Morgan also holds a M.A. in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota, as has provided consulting services to hundreds of clients on a wide range of Compensation and other HR issues. 

He serves as community faculty at Metro State University, St. Mary's University, the International Foundation of Employee Benefits (CEBS), an instructor for the Minnesota Society of CPA's, an instructor for the national SHRM organization and adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota Continuing Education Program. He also teaches the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification courses for SHRM on an international basis as well as the University of Minnesota and the Twin Cities SHRM Association.

Additionally, he has served on the Carlson School of Management HR and Labor Studies Alumni Board the HR Executive Forum Board, the Twin Cities HR Association  and is the former President / Board member of the Twin Cities Compensation Network.  He has been quoted on WCCO TV "good question" segment, the Twin Cities Business Journal and the Twin Cities Public Television Almanac show.

In 2017 Larry was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Twin Cities Compensation Network, one of the largest compensation associations in the United States.  In 2022, Larry was presented with the "Friend of the Profession" award by the Minnesota Society of CPAs for his contributions to the organization.
